Automotive Market Research

Automotive Market Research

Our experience in automotive research spans over 20 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge gathered throughout an ever evolving period within the history of the automotive industry.

This range of work incorporates both business-to-business and consumer research and spans all methodologies. It requires a solid understanding of the complexities of the automotive industry and includes direct client work along with collaborating with specialist automotive industry consultants.

Volkswagen Group - Manufacturer and Brand Research

Having conducted market research for Volkswagen Group for a number of years, we understand the flexibility and requirements of working in automotive market research. Combining the use of traditional research methods with bespoke studies we are able to offer solutions and expertise in conducting satisfaction and performance evaluations, communications studies, internal support services, dealer satisfaction programmes and research with new car buyers.

Automotive Research

This ongoing research includes both passenger cars (Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Skoda) as well as commercial vehicle brands (Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles).

Lex Autolease - Fleet Research

Our relationship with the Lex organisation has developed over the many years we have worked together and demonstrates the importance we place on long term client partnerships. As the Lex business has changed, we have responded. We’ve worked directly, as well as through consultant contacts. Initially working with Lex Retail and Lex Autocentres on various fleet manager, driver and staff studies, and over recent years providing customer satisfaction tracking for Lex Vehicle Leasing and Lombard Finance. We are currently in our sixth year of providing an annual market audit study for Lex Autolease, formerly Lloyds TSB Autolease.

Owners and Prospects

Topically, a current piece of tracking work seeks to establish the affect of the economic climate on the purchase habits of new car buyers. Other studies have established buying process models to inform brand marketing and communication planning.

Aside from studies directly for car and van manufacturers and leasing organisations, our research with retail and fleet car drivers has included work for tyre manufacturers, roadside recovery services, insurance and financial organisations.

Industry Recognised and Published Research

In addition to businesses using the results of commissioned studies within their own organisations, over the years we are very proud to also have our work quoted to wider audiences, for example:

  • Lex Report on Motoring
  • ICDP and BVRLA Annual Reports
  • Fleet Management and Company Car Magazine articles
  • Manufacturer Annual Brand Plans and conference material
