About Swift Research

Research Team

Our research team has a strong mix of qualitative and quantitative experience.

Some of the team joined as graduates, whilst others have come from other research agencies or clientside research. We like to maintain a mix of individuals, as differing skills and experiences enhance the service we provide to our clients. The team conduct studies across a variety of market sectors.

All our projects are executed in-house via our own telephone, field and data processing departments, ensuring that executives maintain close involvement at all stages of the project. A hands-on approach is taken within the executive team, especially when undertaking qualitative work (focus groups and depth interviews).

Our executives work on a full range of methodologies including face-to-face (central location tests, street intercepts, store exit interviews, door-to-door surveys), telephone and self-completion via CAPI, web and paper.

Our research executives personally attend fieldwork and brief interviewers where specialist knowledge is required.

  • Kate Binner - Account Group Manager

    Kate joined Swift in 2002 as a Senior Research Exec. She is now not only one of our 3 Account Group Managers, but a mum of 2.

    Kate has been jointly responsible for developing our work with clients MARS, Reckitt Benckiser and Yoplait.

    Kate has research experience across all types of quantitative and qualitative techniques and has 10 years moderating experience specialising in consumer focus groups.

    Kate likes to give herself goals to achieve in order to keep herself fit, hence runs half marathons and has just completed her first Marathon in Helsinki.

  • Sandra Penfold - Director

    Sandra founded Swift Research in 1985 and has worked in research for over 35 years. Before Swift Research she worked for a number of major research agencies including BJM and Business Decisions.

    Sandra still works closely with the research team and a number of clients. Her key focus is consumer research: Procter & Gamble, International Flavours & Fragrances (IFF) and AC Nielsen are her primary accounts. In addition Sandra collaborates on global studies with other International research agencies such as TNS and Market Vision Research.

  • Alison Flannery - Managing Director

    Alison joined Swift as a senior research exec in 1994. She rapidly became involved in the development of the business and was invited to join the Board in 2000. Alison has experience and knowledge across a range of markets and techniques, she continues to work with both external clients and our research and management teams to deliver solid research and progress new approaches in response to industry demands.

    Alison was appointed MD in 2007. She is a strong believer that success is the result of a dedicated team working hard, responding flexibly and delivering insightful high quality results consistently, she encourages all the team at Swift to play their part in the ever evolving development of the Company.
